Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge

Founded in 1939, Bosque del Apach National Wildlife Refuge in central New Mexico is one of the premier wildlife photography locations in the United States.  Bosque del Apache is located approximately 90 miles south of Albuquerque and about 20 miles south of the town of Socorro, New Mexico, just minutes from Interstate 25.  The annual Sand Hill Crane migration in early December attracts photographers from around the world.

From December 3rd - 6th, 2009, myself a group of Denver area photographers made the 500 plus mile journey from Denver to Socorro.  Here are a few of my favorite photographs from that trip.
