From time to time I take candid photographs of people. Here's a small collection, which I'll be adding to in the future.
I'm a big believer in Black & White images. By nature, black and white photographs are abstract. Interestingly, I don't believe a photographer can actually capture the "essence" of a person with a candid photo, but a photographer can certainly create a compelling illusion of the person he/she photographs. The most basic aspect of the photograph is that it can dissect time and motion.
My criteria for good candid photography are.
1. The subject(s) should be unaware or unconcerned with my presence.
2. The photo should either ask a question or answer a question (or both.)
3. The scene can not be staged.
4. The scene must be interesting.
