Maui is a breeding ground for Humpback Whales. The locals say that in March, there are so many whales in the coastal waters, you can't count them. By April, most of the whales have moved on to other waters. A few mothers with their calves are still hanging out though, and this year seemed to be more than normal. We saw whales almost every day we were there. The trick is getting close to them.
